Our charging policy

You collect the car fully charged at no cost. Return it at a similar level; if it is lower we charge the actual cost at ฿8 per unit.

We do not use the petrol-car "full-to-full" rule. Charging an EV to 100% at a fast charger takes disproportionately long and is not good for the battery.

FAQ

How much is the deposit and when do I get it back?
The deposit is between THB 5,000 and 10,000 depending on the car, stated on each vehicle page and again in the summary before you confirm. Cash is accepted — a credit card is not required. The deposit is not rent and is not deducted from the rental cost. We return it in full on the day you bring the car back, as soon as the vehicle has been checked. If anything needs to be deducted we show you the itemised amount first.
How easy is charging in Chiang Mai, and how long does it take?
It is straightforward. Chiang Mai has fast chargers at the major shopping malls, at petrol stations on the main roads, and at many hotels. All our cars use the CCS2 connector, which nearly every fast charger in Thailand supports. A fast charge from 20% to 80% takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes — about the length of one meal stop. We hand the car over fully charged at no cost on day one, and send you a list of chargers along your planned route over LINE before you set off.
Is parking difficult in the Chiang Mai Old City?
Inside the moat the lanes are narrow and street parking fills up quickly from late afternoon onwards. If your accommodation is inside the Old City, ask the hotel about parking before you book — some have none at all. A small car like the BYD Dolphin fits spaces an SUV cannot, which is the main reason we recommend it for Old City stays. Parking is easier around Tha Phae Gate and Chang Khlan Road, and the shopping-mall car parks are open to everyone and rarely full.
